My First Steps With Impress.Js

And the show will go on...

Written with Elvis, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery and Impress.js. Tested with Slackware Linux.

...

Limitations for my usage...

  • No slideshow capabilities like start, pause, resume, last, first... ;
  • No simple API to add callbacks for enter or leave events on a slide ;
  • only one impress-div in a HTML page.
...

What I decide to do...

  • Learn really JavaScript : thanks to Douglas Crockford and this book JavaScript: The Good Parts ;
  • Add some slideshow capabilities ;
  • Simplify event-listener usage on a slide.
...

Slideshow API

impress('animation').init() ;
var s = CrabsImpressJs.slideshow(5000, "impressId");
s.start();
s.stop();
s.resume();
s.next();
s.prev();
s.first();
s.last();
...

Events-callback Declaration

impress('animation').init() ;
CrabsImpressJs.stepEvents('last',
    function (e, steps) { ...actions for enter event... },
    function (e, steps) { ...actions for leave event... },
    'animation'
    );
steps is an array with the id of the other steps.
...

And...

For only one impress-div in a HTML page, I don't kown what I'll do...

Perhaps I'll fork impress.js for this usage or I will try alternatives to it.

Follow-me on Crabs's world, for know what I'll do...
